Extracurricular Activies
I've been a mentor for the Kalani High School First Robotics team (Team 3008) since 2011. It's been amazing teaching the next generation of engineers the ins and outs of system engineering, design, integration, troubleshooting, and most importantly, how to MacGyver things.
What Is FIRST Robotics?
FIRST Robotics is the most engaging program to develop the next generation of engineers and scientists.
There's also the basic skills: design, manufacturing, welding, wiring, system integration, troubleshooting, and working for a common goal.
Beyond the geek stuff, there's a place in the program for all facets of business - marketing, sales, promotion, graphic design (see WayTech logo above), product development, project management, leadership...
And far beyond that is the concept of gracious professionalism. The world would be a better place if everybody embodied this concept.
